I really wanted to have one of those gender reveal parties with friends and family to share in our news. How amazing would it be for us to cut into this cake, surrounded by loved ones, and have everyone find out the news at the same time?
But, since we’re leaving for our Alaska > Vancouver > Seattle trip early tomorrow morning, a (large) party this weekend just wasn’t going to happen. And let’s be realistic, Paul and I just would not be able to keep a secret like this for 2.5 weeks.
So, we had a small party at our house instead. Esther & Jacob came over, as well as our two wonderful neighbors. I got to make a cake and cut into it as our friends watched and took their guesses as to whether it was going to be blue or pink on the inside.
Note: I was planning on making a gorgeous ombre cake, but since I have one work day left to get a about three days of work done in… I opted for something more simple. Maybe I”ll make an ombre cake next month…
Pink! Yup, we’re having a little girl! And we could not be more thrilled.
I can not wait to buy clothes for her and start planning out the nursery. I see many fun, crafty days in my near future. I have also been taking a belly photo every other week (for now, soon to be every week, I’m sure). I wanted to sure this week’s photo with you all:

Awwww, congratulations!! So exciting! And I love the picture, your little girl will love those pictures when she’s older! Oh, and your cake looks beautiful, by the way. That frosting… Mmmmm
I’m so glad it’s a girl – partly because I think she will appreciate these photos more than a boy would
And that frosting… my way of disguising how bad of a cake decorator I am – haha!

i like how you’re doing your pregnancy photos!
Thanks! I’m trying to be creative, and unfortunately there are no major holidays coming up (aside from July 4th), so things might have to get interesting…
